I contacted Lane "exact detail replica" Die casts, by being urged on this site by someone, forgot who and which thread, but heres their response on 69`s.

Quote:
Hello,
Thank you for your interest in our models. We have considered making a
'69 Firebird but still need to produce several versions from our '67-'68 Firebird tooling before we invest money into a '69 body and parts. I will pass your suggestion along to our marketing and research departments, though.
Thank you and best regards,
Cynthia

Sounds like double-talk for "Don't hold your breath!"
Guess I don't understand what making more 67-68's has to do with making a 69.

(Sent them an e-mail request as well. No response yet.)

My read on it is that they will modify the '67-'68 tooling to make the '69, but only after they've milked the '67-'68 tooling for all they can.

Put a poll together as they may be wondering why they all of a sudden started receiving the same request.
Who would buy a '69 if available from Lane?

I don't know much about die cast, or the real ones for that matter. I did find this though:

I bought this bird and its the size of hot wheel. I was disappointed thinking it would be bigger. In fact I think you can find that car at a hobby shop.

BKB,the diecast 69' convert you bought is the size of a hotwheel. 1/64 scale. Anything 69' firebird is harder to come by including diecasts. The pictures of the Lane Exact Detail firebirds are 1/18 scale and are beautiful. I received word from Lane that the black convertible had quality issues with the paint so they were not releasing them.Dang, i had one reserved for me too!!!
