The welded-on plate will cause less cavitatition, and improve cooling.. I think on chevy pumps, it's as much as 20 or 30 F cooler with closing plate vs. stock pumps..

The quadrajet is still your best bet. Do the cam at the same time as the intake if you're worried about it. Go mild on the cam though. Unless you've got a high stall converter or very low rear end gears, the cam mentioned above is too much for you

Re sleeves work well. Just be sure the sleeve and deck are at the same height. Not sure if when they sleeve the deck they will have to machine the deck face to get the sleeve to the same height? If you zero decked that may be a concern? Now is
